Athens-based trio, The Whigs is featured as one of Rolling Stone’s “Top 10 Artists To Watch” for 2006. The issue’s in stores now!
I saw The Whigs for my first time a few years ago on The Rock Boat and they blew me away live. Great energy, very raw rock’n'roll with a definite indie edge, fun to watch. Probably the best band on the whole boat. Another notable appearance includes their kick-ass set at last year’s Paste Magazine’s Rock N Reel Fest. Check them out if you can soon before they’re playing thousand seaters.
