I didn’t. Really. For those of you who don’t know, I grew up in El Salvador (that’s in Central America for the geographically lame) and lived there my teen years. I never got into that scene because of this and because of that I had never been to the Vans Warped Tour. Until today - at 24. Kinda late?

I only went in support of my boys in Second Shift who won a slot on the Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands contest (congrats to them - their set was pretty damn good). I had fun - I enjoyed seeing kids with multi-colored mohawks and 14 year-old girls that looked like 95 lbs. and all could beat me up. But damn, was it hot.

Now on a more my scene kinda note - Second Shift is putting on the first annual Second Shift Rock ‘n Roll Circus at the 10 High July 13 and 14. 11 bands from all over the Southeast are playing the two day circus-themed festival - indie rock, cotton candy, and PBRs will be flowing like the Mississippi.
