Half of Atlanta heroes, Outkast, Andre Benjamin has created “Class of 3000,” the upcoming animated series set in and around an Atlanta school for the performing arts.* He’s co-creator, co-executive producer and pretty much full-fledged everything else on the show. It debuts in November on Cartoon Network, which aired a brief clip that featured the main character, Sunny Bridges (who looks and sounds like Benjamin) and a theme song, written by Benjamin, with the irresistibly bouncy chorus “Class of 3000/Be yourself/Cuz no one else can do that thing like you do.”

* This has me dying to know if it’s actually an Atlanta Public School Performing Arts Magnet school.  Both Andre and Big Boi attended Tri-Cities High School in East Point - a Performing Arts Magnet School.  Perhaps based on it?  I used to have regional Orchestra competitions there in highschool… will be watching for similiarities as soon as this airs!
