Too often, I get unsolicited friend requests from bands I’ve never heard from on MySpace.  And more often than not, I don’t bother to approve them unless I already know who they are or if they really strike my fancy.

Just got one today that made me take notice.
They’re called Rebel State.

And they’re from SWEDEN!?!

Yup.  A Swedish “Southern Rock” band…
And looks like they’re keeping it traditional to the genre, even to the point of using the rebel flag!

After checking out their page, found a link for some Swedish festival called the Monsters Of Southern Rock, although currently the website isn’t working.   So no clue if any U.S. bands are taking part or when they’re planning on holding it.

Isn’t it interesting to see how our “culture” has infiltrated the rest of the world?
