Death On The Track

Posted :: June 28, 2007 | 3:16 pm ::

From 11Alive:
“The North Avenue MARTA station was shut down for commuters Thursday after a person in a wheelchair fell onto the train tracks and died. The victim was not struck by a train and did not hit the third rail which provides electricity for the trains. The victim may have died from the fall, officials indicated to 11Alive News.

MARTA has set up a bus bridge system to transfer customers to their desired locations from the North Avenue station. The bus bridge is running between the Arts Center and North Avenue station as well as between the Five Points and North Avenue stations.

MARTA officials and Atlanta police are on the scene investigating the accident.”

Holy geez. I wonder if they’ll release information on the poor person who fell and how he died. I wonder how someone in a wheelchair rolls over the edge like that as well? They don’t insinuate suicide or murder as possibilities… which means they had to have unintentionally rolled into the trackline.

UPDATE: Article from Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Now I’m even more curious…
