The long awaited ATO Records debut release of Athens indie-rock band, The Whigs, is about to hit shelves of your favorite record stores everywhere. Mission Control, the Whigs’ sophomore album, was recorded at the legendary Hollywood Sunset Sound Studios (think the Beach Boys and Led Zepplin), and is simply amazing. Mission Control is a rock record that sucks you in at track one and spits you out into a Whigs live show.

Since 2003 The Whigs have dominated in Atlanta and Athens, their 2006 “Bands to Watch” nod in Rolling Stone magazine turned up the heat with the bands national buzz; now in 2008, Mission Control will no doubt boost The Whigs to crazy levels of Rock ‘n roll status.

The Whigs will officially release Mission Control on Tuesday, January 22, and will celebrate with shows in Atlanta on Friday, January 25 at The Earl and on Saturday, January 26 at the 40 Watt in Athens. Both shows will sell out, so get your tickets today!
