It’s Monday, and in extreme cliché mode, I already can’t wait ’til the weekend. SO what better way to make every day survivable than with a show or event for every night!
Here is a little run down of what’s going on in Atlanta this week (and where you might find me!)
Monday, January 28
at Lenny’s
Tendaberry / The Codex Boom / APOB / The Extraordinary Contraptions
9PM/ 21 and UP/ FREE
It’s a FREE show and Tendaberry is pretty badass.

Ween
Doors at 7 / Show at 9

Ween’s most recent release, La Cucaracha, has the band on tour for handful of dates in the US, then its off to New Zealand, Australia and a couple festivals in Europe til the end of the Spring. But don’t worry, I’m sure they’ll be back to hit up the summer/fall festivals later this year.

Thursday, January 31
at the Drunken Unicorn
Zoroaster / Sourvein / All The Saints
Doors 9PM / 18 and UP / Cover ?*
All The Saints have been one of my favorite local Atlanta bands for a while now - they definitely have the potential to break-through, so come out and support them!
They’ve got some new tracks up on the ol’ MySpace page, but here is one of my favorites for your downloading pleasures

* I hate when venues don’t list cover prices.

Friday, February 1
at the Five Spot
Hand Job - Live Art, DJ Heart Disease, Old School N.E.S
9pm / 21 and UP / $5
Hand Job is probably the coolest thing that’s happened to the 5 Spot in the past (forever) couple of months. From what I gather its a once a month live art party put on by a handful of Cartoon Networks illustrators, a DJ that spins your typical Dance /1980’s pop / I hate electronica/ its good for the background kind of music, and an old school Nintendo in the back with all your favorite childhood games that made you obese and slightly awkward around women. Yay for good times!
The art is really cool, and its up for sale as soon as its dry. Check it out, holmes.

Saturday, February 2
at the Star Bar
Bishop Don, Sonia Leigh , Kahle Davis
9PM / 21 and UP / $10
I’m so proud of the Star Bar, they’ve been getting some really great press lately, and as Jeff Clark from Stomp and Stammer said to me the other day, “are going through a renaissance.” Check them out this Saturday for a great lineup!

Sunday, February 3
at Home
the Super Bowl
My couch / Invite Only
I just got my cable hooked up yesterday, I really don’t care much for football, but I am very excited to see the half-time show with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Also I have a ton of beer leftover from my birthday. Go drunk!
