The Devil Stole the Beat (TDSTB) returns to Atlanta and host venue, Smith’s Olde Bar (1580 Piedmont Ave NE, Atlanta, GA 30324) for it’s 8th installment Feb 20-22, 2008. Once again partnering with performing rights organizations ASCAP & BMI, the 3 day event continues it’s mission of introducing fans & music industry folks alike to a group of hand-selected emerging artists.
In addition to the almost famous invitation-only Wednesday night launch party, TDSTB ‘08 will include 16 showcases featuring full band performances & intimate songwriter sets. For 2008, The Devil Stole The Beat welcomes back sponsors Purevolume.com and DiscRevolt while celebrating the addition of Paste Magazine to the sponsor family.
Past performers include… Summerbirds in The Cellar, Andy Zipf, Snowden, A Fir Ju Well, The Working Title, We Are Scientists, Sonia Leigh, Right Away, Great Captain! (Andy Hull from Manchester Orchestra), The Hiss, Dead Confederate, Shy Child, and How I Became The Bomb, among others.
Tickets are $6 per showcase, or participants can purchase a $10 3-day pass including admission into both Thursday (TONIGHT) & Friday’s showcases, along with the official launch party on Wednesday night.
