Celebrate Record Store Day!

April 18th, 2008

Everyone’s been hearing the news about the sad state of affairs in the music industry.  Well, your local “mom & pop” indie store is tired of all that prattle and invite one and all to come by their neighborhood store on Saturday, April 19th to see that they’re doing fine, thank you very much.

Taking a cue from Free Comic Book Day, hundreds of independent record stores across the country and even across the globe have started Record Store Day, celebrating, well…themselves.  There’s a lot of amazing events and sales going on that you should check out.  Here’s some of what you can find happening here in our fair city:

Circle Sky Records - Chamblee

  • On sale - all regular priced used CDs ($6 or higher) are $3 off regular price!
  • In store appearance by The Vinyl Strangers @ 4pm

Criminal Records - Little 5 Points

TWO stages of artist performances!!

Outdoor stage

Indoor stage

DBS Sounds - College Park & DBS Sounds II - Forest Park

Decatur CD - Decatur

North Georgia CD - Norcross

  • 11am to 12:30pm - Meet & Greet with JC
  • 1pm to 3pm - DJ “spin off” hosted by DJ Jelly
