The Felice Brothers At Smith’s Olde Bar On September 16th

As a writer for DaFC, I sometimes forget to actually write anything.  And I totally overlook the fact that there might be people who want me to write something specific for this here blog.  Case in point, Big Hassle Media asked if I could post a feature about The Felice Brothers who’ll be headlining a show over at Smith’s Olde Bar on Tuesday, Sept 16th.

And I only decided to do this piece because I kind of dug their sound, but then I’m generally a sucker for any band that has an accordion player.   They have a bit of that “dark Americana” sound that evokes someone like 16 Horsepower mixed with an old fashioned street busking band.  The AA Bondyswill be opening the show.  If you’re interested in going, you can buy tickets here.

Here’s a couple of YouTube links for you to watch while you should be doing real work.

- A performance at the Newport Folk Fest
- “Frankie’s Gun” live at the Bearsville Theatre in Woodstock, NY

Also including a couple of tracks for you to check out.
