Ran across this bulletin on MySpace, so figured I’d repost for all the Atlanta area horror fans out there. And since I’m no journalist, or simply just too lazy, I haven’t checked this for accuracy or to get the other side of the story.

My name is Lucas Godfrey, Festival Director of Atlanta Horrorfest. Many of you out there know who I am and are aware that from the beginning this festival has been my creation and been under my control . Recently, Atlanta Horrorfest and Festival League (who was handling the film submissions) split ways due to a difference of opinions. Eric Panter from Festival League started up a separate film festival called the Atlanta Horror Film Fest once he was dissociated from Atlanta Horror Fest. He then proceeded without even informing any of the filmmakers that their films would be screened at his last minute festival. These filmmakers graciously submitted their films and paid the fees to have their creative pieces screened at the 3rd annual Atlanta Horrorfest, of which consists of over 30 bands, various events, parties, panels, and the Zombie Walk.

As if this wasn’t enough, Atlantahorrorfest.com has been accessed by an unauthorized means by Eric Panter of Festival League and Atlanta Underground Film Festival. He also used unauthorized means to access the Atlanta Horrorfest myspace page today, while also forging messages, using my name, telling people that I have been fired…which is impossible as I am the documented CEO of Gorehound Productions LLC.  The Atlanta Horrorfest is a registered Trade Name of Gorehound Productions LLC in both Fulton and Dekalb counties in Georgia. In addition, the names Atlanta Horrorfest and Atlanta Horror Fest are both pending filed trademarks of Gorehound Productions LLC.

If you submitted a film to Festival League for the Atlanta Horrorfest, we regrettably do not have it unless you have heard from me personally already. Eric has unlawfully taken all films and submission fees and started up the Atlanta Horror Film Fest, which is of NO ASSOCIATION with the Atlanta Horrorfest. For the past 6 months you all aware that the Atlanta Horrorfest has been advertised as being at the Masquerade and only the Masquerade. There is no stopping this festival, I just need your support and i need your help. Please repost this and tell everyone you know. Please bare with us as we get the website situation resolved.  Until we have that domain name back, we will be using www.atlhorrorfest.com.  Which is the exact same as the old site.

THE ATLANTA HORRORFEST IS STILL HAPPENING AT THE MASQUERADE OCT. 23-26th 2008.  NOTHING HAS CHANGED.  Please show your support and help out one of Atlanta’s greatest festivals! Also we lost a lot of our dear myspace friends in this, so please repost this as a bulletin to retrieve all of our friends!!!
