This weekend is one of my favorite Atlanta festivals, the Cabbagetown Chomp & Stomp Chili Cook-Off & Festival. Creative Loafing voted that it is the “Best Annual Event” in 2008. Get ready for chili (and beer), two stages of bluegrass, and an art market in Cabbagetown Park. Sample some “world famous chili” ($5) from noon until it is gone.

Chomp & Stomp has featured many talented musicians and continues to celebrate the history of old time mountain music that thrived in Cabbagetown during the hey day of Fulton Cotton Mill. The Park Stage features traditional bluegrass & string band music, while The Conroy Amphitheater showcases more general Americana music mixing in some blues, folk, alt-country and a little bit of rock n’ roll.
