Sam Fogarino of Interpol and Adam Franklin of Swervedriver and Toshack Highway have come together to form the new side project, Magnetic Morning, which has been described as “a sonic marriage of two indie heavyweights.” The duo met over dinner in NYC early 2006, while being introduced by a long time, mutual friend, Jack Rabid (The Big Takeover). Since those early days Magnetic Morning has grown to include The Album Leaf’s Jimmy LaValle on keys, Josh Stoddard on bass, and Blasco on guitar.
Here’s a video from Magnetic Morning’s first live show at Mercury Lounge in December 2007, performing the Kinks’ “The Way Love Used to Be.” This was their only gig as The Setting Suns (original band name).
