Darn Neat

Sort It Out

Well, the final pieces are coming together and the 5th Annual Happenstance is set to take place Saturday, December 13th at The EARL. 30 musicians have been lined up to take the plunge into what will undoubtedly be one hell of a long day and a guaranteed good time for musicians and audience alike. Every year some great music gets created, new musical bonds are formed and the Atlanta music scene is ever so slightly improved in the process.

What the hell is a Happenstance?
The concept is to gather local musicians early in the morning, randomly assign them into bands and send them off to create a 20 minute set of music to be performed that night at a local club. The bands learn one cover song, but the rest of the music has to be created that day. At 9pm the doors open and everyone is invited to come witness the carnage.

Who’s playing this year?
Musicians from some great Atlanta bands, including:
Warm in the Wake, Chickens and Pigs, Jupiter Watts, Stovall, Paul Melancon, The Arts and Sciences, Maserati, The Goldest, A Fight to the Death, The Great Divide, Legend of the Giant Squid, Bouldercrest Singing Group, Tag Team, Schwarzkommando, The Early Modern Witch Trials, Cassavetes, The Good Graces, You Are Jaguar, King Congregation, The Rolling 60′s, Antic Clay and The Hides, The Close, Blake Rainey & His Demons, Rolling Thunder Revue, Lindsay Appel, Push Button Action Man, Brodie Stove, I Almost Saw God in the Metro, and more!

It’s for a good cause!
The Happenstance will be donating all proceeds from this year’s show to the Atlanta Community Food Bank. Food donations will also be accepted, so if you bring any of the following food items down to the club, you’ll get in to the show for a reduced price: Peanut Butter, Canned Tuna, Canned Beans, Canned Soups, Stews and Pastas, 100% Fruit Juice, Canned Fruits and Vegetables, Macaroni and Cheese Dinners, Whole Grain, or Low Sugar Cereals. You can read more about ACFB.

Come out and support some of the best independent musicians in Atlanta as they create something unique, fun, and for a great cause.
