An old friend of mine, community activist and co-founder of SoPo Bicycle Co-op, Rachael Spiewak, along with local dj/musician Chris Devoe, were victims of a home invasion last week off North Avenue. Tonight is a benefit at the Highland Inn Ballroom on their behalf to celebrate, help support them and “to raise awareness of crime happening around us.”

Live performances by the Gaye Blades (includes members of the Black Lips), Noot d’ Noot, plus other very special guests will headline the evening with dj’s throughout the night.

There will also be a Raffle with prizes donated by Criminal Records, Young Blood Gallery, Sweetgrass Salon, Charis Books, Videodrome, Sevananda, private yoga lesson from Dina Greene (of Yoga Samadhi), Only & One Jewelry, Monika Van Schellenbeck Jewelry, year membership to Eyedrum, print from Steven A. Dixey, San Francisco Coffee, gift bag from R. Land, Alternative Apparel, and other local businesses.
