Ryan Adams is calling it quits due to his “struggling with some balance and hearing issues.”
I’ll leave the snarky commentary for Pitchfork because it’s just too easy. I was not a huge fan of the Cardinals but “Heartbreaker” will remain one of my favorite all-time albums for a good time coming. It’s rock and all soul. Talk about wearing your heart on your sleeve. This was his first solo effort after Whiskeytown and could debatably rival Neil Young with this alt-country classic.
Ryan is coming to town on his final leg on the road and just announced a second Atlanta date. The Cardinals have added an exclusive Blue Cave performance at the Tabernacle in Atlanta, GA on March 8th. Tickets go on sale to the public this Saturday, February 14th at 10AM. The previously announced March 20th performance at the Fox Theater is sold out. Last chance. Maybe he’ll bring along his new fiancee.
