My Atlanta readers are likely hyper-aware of the lack of power around Atlanta thus far this week. Thanks to some lovely tornado weather, half of the city has been crippled without power since yesterday morning. Including me. Georgia Power tells me I won’t be getting my power back until tomorrow at midnight so I wanted to give you a blog post to hold you over until I can get back in the routine (featuring electricity!) again. Le sigh.
Some songs I have been swooning over lately (with example swoon-worthy lyrics from each):
“I didn’t know the weight of my tongue”
[mp3] Blind Pilot – Oviedo (from 3 Rounds and a Sound)
“There is no one around to hear the notes falling down”
[mp3] Human Highway – The Sound (from Moody Motorcycle)
“Lie back, I’ll instigate/I wanna take it now before this drifts away”
[mp3] Army Navy – Saints (from Army Navy)
(This one included for the instrumentals.)
[mp3] Alaska In Winter – Berlin (from Holiday)
“Planting a seed on the winding road/You can’t bloom if you don’t grow”
[mp3] Human Highway – Moody Motorcycle (from Moody Motorcycle)
