This Saturday, May 9 from 9AM until 5PM, Batter Blaster will be attempting to break the world record for “Most Pancakes Cooked in 8 Hours” in Centennial Olympic Park. The event will be in support of Hosea Feed The Hungry & Homeless, an Atlanta based non-profit organization dedicated to rescue, restore and re-stabilize at-risk and homeless individuals and families so they can thrive and become self-sufficient.
They need to serve 70,000 pancakes to break the record! The current world record was set in February 2009 by the Lions Club of Lubbock, TX. Over the course of eight hours, they served 66,549 pancakes to approximately 17,000 people.
“We found a way to put pancakes in a can – breaking the world record should be easy,” says Sean O’Connor, founder and CEO of Batter Blaster. “We specifically chose Atlanta because the residents have embraced our product and we know they’ll come out and support our attempt. This event is designed to be a team effort, between Batter Blaster and the people of Atlanta. And in these tough economic times, offering free breakfast to the entire city is our small way of giving back.” Wait, is he calling us fat?
Hit the park tomorrow and enjoy the complimentary pancakes, and get ready to blast into the record books.
