When I heard that the Viewer’s Choice for this Thursday’s Screen on the Green was Ghostbusters, I was pretty proud to be an Atlantan. Maybe it’s because the voting came on the tail end of the release of the new Ghostbusters game, which I hear is determinably fun, or maybe it’s because Atlanta is finally being ruled by a majority Geek Party. Either way, Ghostbusters, at Centennial Olympic Park sounds like a good evening to me.
Since Screen on the Green moved to Centennial Olympic Park from Piedmont Park, I haven’t made it to a movie, but as far as I can tell, the same rules apply. No alcohol can be brought in but you can buy alcohol on site as well as food. Viewers are encouraged to bring food, blankets, chairs etc. but sorry guys, no pets will be allowed.
With the weather as humid and hot as it has been in recent days, I doubt anyone will have to worry about the temperature dropping once the sun goes down and the movie begins. Don’t forget to take Marta if at all possible. You really don’t want to worry about finding parking or paying the ridiculous price of the nearby lots.
Bonus? Atlanta’s own DJ Webb will keep the crowd entertained with some music before the show starts at sundown.
