3rd Annual MIXT Opens At MINT Gallery Tonight

Posted :: August 22, 2009 | 11:37 am ::

One of my favorite shows at Old Fourth Ward’s MINT Gallery last year was the reMIXT, mixtape exhibition, and tonight marks the opening of the third annual exhibit. 2007′s debut exhibit opened MINT Gallery in their current space and since moving to their new residence, MINT has hosted close to 50 shows showcasing the local Atlanta art community.

MINT Gallery has challenged artists to mix musical tastes with visual arts. MIXT is a group exhibit with artists presenting artwork and mixtapes together. This year, the artists represent a wide range of backgrounds and styles including students, professors and musicians. Their work ranges from illustrative to animated. With over 30 contributors, MINT Gallery hopes to continue to delve into the relationship between music and creativity.

Artists include: Bean Summer, Emily Maxwell, Saint, Rachael Spiewak, Kelly McKernan, Jason Travis, Chris Hamer, Travis Thatcher, and many more.
