After decades of ownership by the Eason clan, Creative Loafing has a new owner, Atalaya Capital Management. Check in with Thomas Wheatley who attended the auction hearing in Tampa yesterday on this audio interview.

The Atlanta Underground Film Festival kicks off tonight and runs through Sunday, August 30.

For eight bucks or less, viewers will have the option of over 100 underground films, documentaries and animated shorts that will be showcased at eight venues, including Midtown Art Cinema, Eyedrum, The Carter Center and Young Blood Gallery.
