The Honorary Title’s Jarrod Gorbel and Dustin Dobernig (keyboards) hit the road in late August for an acoustic tour and will be in Atlanta at Vinyl tonight.
Gorbel is currently putting the finishing touches on his first solo record – a dramatic departure for the New York singer-songwriter, who spent the early part of this summer in a Los Angeles studio with producer Blake Sennett, formerly of Rilo Kiley and the Elected. They rounded up a killer backing band exclusively for the recording session – including Jason Boesel (formerly of Rilo Kiley, and currently in Conor Oberst’s Mystic Valley Band) on drums, Azure Ray’s Orenda Fink on backing vocals, Nate Walcott (Bright Eyes, Mystic Valley Band) and Alex McDougal from The Black Crowes on organ – for an album more intimate and organic than previously heard.
