In tweets from the Office of Congressman Hank Johnson this afternoon, it has been announced that Obama has approved Governor Sonny Perdue’s request and issued a Major Disaster Declaration for areas of Georgia in response to the flash floods throughout the Metro Atlanta area on Monday of this week.

“Pres Obama has just issued Major Disaster Declaration for some areas of GA affected by floods.”
“Thus far Cobb, Cherokee, Paulding and Douglas are included in President’s disaster declaration. Stay tuned for updates.”
